Job summary

Kaishan Compressors USA is seeking a warehouse associate at our Loxley, Alabama facility. You will handle inbound/outbound goods, assemble orders, and help with inventory and shipping duties.

The role requires forklift certification, basic computer skills, and attention to detail. Prior warehouse experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, with opportunities for overtime and a structured safety program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification required.
• Minimum two years of warehouse experience.
• Manufacturing warehouse experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and accurate counting required.
• Basic reading and writing skills are essential.
• Basic data entry using computer tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in unloading trucks, check in merchandise, and distribute to sales associates.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders.
• Move materials to shipping or holding areas, by hand or with equipment.
• Read customer orders, work orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved or shipped.
• Sort items on racks by size, type, or product code.
• Open crates and other packages.
• Record amounts of materials received or distributed.
• Assist in counting of physical inventory.
• Prepare parcels for mailing.
• Label raw materials with relevant dates.
• Enter daily transactions in tracking software.
• Installs bracing, padding and strapping to ensure safe dispatching.
• Maintain neat and orderly warehouse environment.

Based in Loxley, Alabama our over 130,000 square foot, state-of-the-art heated and cooled manufacturing facility was built using lean manufacturing methodologies to provide the industry's best lead times.

This position receives, stores and distributes material, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas, by hand or with power lift truck.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code.
• Open crates and other packages.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Assist in counting of physical inventory.
• Prepare parcels for mailing.
• Ensure all raw materials are appropriately labeled with relevant dates
• Enter daily transactions in the tracking software
• Installs bracing, padding and strapping to loaded materials in the vehicle to ensure safe and secure dispatching of ordered material
• Maintains the workplace and warehouse in a neat, clean and orderly condition.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Forklift certification is
• Two years’ prior warehouse experience is
• Manufacturing warehouse experience is
• Good reading comprehension skills.
• Legible writing skills.
• Basic carpentry skills are a plus.
• Must have accurate counting skills and must be detail oriented.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook, Excel and Word as well as basic data entry is required.

Work Environment:

This position works in a heated air-conditioned warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday when trucks arrive for unloading. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, box cutters, etc.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or bend at the knees. The employee has to have both hand and arm dexterity. The employee must lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

We are a drug, weapon and smoke-free facility. All candidates must be able to pass a physical and drug screen for employment. This role is not eligible for remote work.

8 AM - 5 PM Monday -Friday. (Some days have 2 hours of OT, although it may be that your schedule is 6 AM - 3 PM depending on business needs.) A Saturday workday is rare but may be required around our yearly inventory.
