Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is hiring a Material Handler I to move glass and metal materials around the plant, supporting production processes. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficient material flow. You’ll start with defined tasks and training to advance in a manufacturing setting.

The position involves off-loading, following work orders, labeling, and basic measurement reading, with pay starting at competitive hourly rates and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Prior work experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Stand for 8–10 hours on a concrete floor.
• Able to tolerate moderate to high noise levels.
• Experience in a climate-controlled plant facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• On/off-loading of products from tables, racks, delivery trucks or crates.
• Read work orders and follow safety, quality and production standards.
• Attach labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic measurements using a tape measure.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler I is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Departments, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Starting pay is $21.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Job responsibilities include:

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)
