Sid Grinker Restoration is seeking a Materials Handler to oversee procurement, inventory control, and distribution for restoration projects. You will work with the Director of Construction, project managers, vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective supply of materials.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, experience with inventory systems, and a proven track record in materials management, forecasting, and supplier relations to keep projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize procurement costs.
  • Monitor and maintain an updated database of approved suppliers, evaluating their performance regularly.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to track, manage, and optimize materials and supplies.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Utilize inventory management software/systems to maintain real-time visibility and control over stock levels.
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to forecast all materials needs for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Analyze historical data, industry trends, and project specifications to develop accurate materials forecasts and procurement plans.
  • Coordinate the timely delivery of materials to project sites, ensuring they meet project schedules and requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers to determine optimal delivery routes, transportation modes, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and track deliveries, addressing any issues or delays proactively to minimize project disruptions.

Requirements

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience And/or Training

Proven experience as a materials manager or in a similar role, preferably within the property restoration, construction, or related industries.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management systems, and supply chain best practices.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to forecast needs and address inventory challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
Licenses/Certificates

Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid Wisconsin state driver’s license.
