Responsibilities

Salary Range: $18.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Ellison Bakery is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler - Warehouse Associate to support our warehouse and production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, moving, tracking, and shipping materials while ensuring inventory accuracy and supporting uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys working with a team, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Shift - Monday through Friday - 9am to 5.30pm

This position requires flexibility to work and train at both Ellison warehouse locations, which are located approximately one mile apart.

What You'll Do

Warehouse Operations

• Receive, inspect, count, label, and stock incoming materials.
• Operate RF scanning equipment to accurately track inventory movements.
• Load and unload trucks and complete all required shipping and receiving documentation.
• Pull, stage, package, and ship customer orders accurately and on time.
• Stock inventory in designated warehouse locations and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform cycle counts and support inventory control activities.
• Identify, report, and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Production Support

• Deliver raw materials to production lines to support continuous operations.
• Set up production lines based on production schedules.
• Create and print required labels for received materials.
• Manage work-in-process (WIP) and non-conforming materials according to established procedures.
• Return unused materials to inventory and accurately record transactions in the ERP system.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company policies, food safety requirements, GMPs, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols.
• Attend and participate in pre-shift production meetings.
• Conduct routine inspections of material‑handling equipment before use.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Immediately report food safety, quality, or workplace safety concerns.

Team Support

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Assist with training newly hired employees as needed.
• Support other production and warehouse functions as business needs require.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English sufficiently to follow safety instructions, policies, and work procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Material Handler in a fast‑paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of RF scanner (RF gun) experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience, including sit‑down and stand‑up forklifts.
• Basic computer skills and experience entering transactions into inventory or ERP systems.
• Ability to accurately perform basic math calculations including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional climbing or balancing.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, humidity, and loud noise levels.
• Ability to safely work around forklifts and warehouse equipment.
• Must have adequate vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices, to perform essential job functions.
