Job description

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Materials Handler who keeps things moving and keeps the numbers straight. You'll be the one making sure the right parts, in the right quantities, are in the right place at the right time — receiving incoming stock, staging materials for production, managing inventory accuracy, and getting finished goods out the door. This job rewards someone with a sense of urgency, sharp attention to detail, and the kind of reliability that lets the rest of the shop count on you.

What You'll Do
  • Receive incoming materials and supplies, verify quantities and condition against purchase orders and packing slips, and process receipts in the inventory system.
  • Pull, kit, and stage raw materials and components for production orders according to work instructions and
    schedules.
  • Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records; perform cycle counts and help investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Store materials properly, keeping stockroom and staging areas organized, labeled, and easy to audit.
  • Move materials between receiving, stockroom, production, and shipping areas using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts as needed.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating with carriers.
  • Flag shortages, overages, or damaged material to supervisors and purchasing promptly, before they hold up production.
  • Maintain traceability and documentation required under our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • Keep material handling areas clean, safe, and organized in line with company safety standards.
  • Support physical inventories and other periodic inventory control activities.
What We're Looking For
  • 1+ years of experience in materials handling, warehouse, inventory control, or a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable using an inventory or ERP system to receive, transact, and track material.
  • Forklift experience preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified.
  • A genuine sense of urgency — understands that a missing part can stop a production line, and treats material movement as time-sensitive.
  • Sharp attention to detail and accuracy in counting, labeling, and recordkeeping.
  • Physically able to lift, carry, and move materials and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong, team-first work ethic.
  • Basic math skills and comfort with computers for data entry and lookups.
Why Hoffer Flow Controls
  • Stable, established manufacturer with decades in precision flow instrumentation.
  • Small-company environment where good, reliable work gets noticed.
  • A role that's central to keeping the whole shop running smoothly.
  • Competitive pay based on experience.
