Job summary

Prater Industries, Inc. in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a hands-on Material Handler to keep production flowing. You will receive, stock, and issue materials, maintain accurate inventory, and support finishing and shipping as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1–2 years in warehouse operations, forklift certification, and strong attention to detail. You will work both independently and as part of a team, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Supply production with the right materials at the right time
• Load/unload materials using pallets, trays, or shelves

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations
• Forklift certification and experience
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic math, English, and computer skills
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production schedules and business demands.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and move quickly
• Capable of lifting up to 70-100 lbs (with crane assistance)
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and noisy environments
• Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to bend, twist, and squat
