Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) in Wisconsin seeks a Warehouse/Materials Handler to transport materials, operate forklifts, and support production. You will process paperwork, coordinate with supervisors, and maintain safety and efficiency on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include moving materials, loading/unloading, and ensuring timely production with accurate RF documentation; performance engages with Quality Control and Materials Manager for continual improvements.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or HSED/GED; six months to one year related experience and/or training a plus.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret English safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedures; write routing reports and correspondence in English; speak effectively in English.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic including rate, ratio, and percent; read simple graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret schedule and instructions.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: MEC Material Handling Certification and CLD License A/B.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Operates forklift and other power-driven equipment to load or move materials.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Ensures production schedules are met through timely processing and movement of goods.
• Assists during peak times with equipment operation and necessary computer transactions.
• Maintains communication with management and shift personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Supports Continuous Improvement projects and evaluates equipment and training needs as assigned.
• Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems.
