Job summary

Ultrapak Manufacturing Llc in Houston, TX is seeking a reliable Material Handler to ensure smooth material flow on the production floor. You will receive, inspect, store, and stage raw materials, assist with machine setup, and coordinate with teams to maintain schedules.

A high school diploma is required, with GMP/HACCP awareness and basic math skills. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work flexible hours including overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in material handling in manufacturing.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• English literacy to read and interpret instructions.
• Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP.
• Willingness to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store raw materials such as plastic bags, additives, and packaging supplies used in bags and pouch manufacturing.
• Report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition identified in the workplace.
• Scan finished production boxes.
• Prepare materials for production, including loading materials onto machines such as press seal machines and pouch-making equipment.
• Monitor material supply levels and coordinate with other departments to replenish inventory.
• Assist machine operators with setup and changeovers by supplying materials and removing finished products.
• Accurately store and organize the movement of materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems and conduct regular cycle counts.
• Dispose of scrap materials and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure material handling activities comply with policies.
• Collaborate with production team members to optimize workflow and meet production schedules.
• Collaborate with other members of the production team to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Maintain the assigned area clean and organized.
• Perform all tasks with urgency and accuracy.
• Follow housekeeping standards and 5’s methodology.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by management.
