Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America seeks a Material Flow Specialist to optimize material movement on automotive production lines. You will design flow, establish labor estimations, and implement Kanban systems to ensure timely replenishment and minimal downtime.

You will drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, support new model launches, and define KPIs to track efficiency and progress across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in industrial engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in material flow, inventory management, internal logistics, or supply chain management.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations for material handling.
• Ability to articulate, write, and present clearly to upper management.
• SAP experience—Control Cycle/Material Master/Supply Area.
• Value stream mapping expertise.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design of material flow within automotive production lines to minimize downtime and waste.
• Establish man hours calculations and requirements for the Material Handling team.
• Implement Kanban systems to control material flow and trigger replenishment thresholds.
• Identify and remove blockers to project timelines and milestones.
• Conduct root cause analysis to improve manpower, materials, methods, and machines.
• Own new model launch milestones related to packaging and material handling.
• Develop KPIs to measure efficiency, monitor progress, and drive decisions.
