Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking a Production Materials Coordinator II to support daily electronics manufacturing. You will ensure materials, WIP, consumables, tools, and production support items are available to maintain steady manufacturing flow and minimize downtime.

You will work closely with Production, Inventory Control, Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing Engineering to move materials, conduct cycles counts, verify part numbers, and document transactions in ERP/MES systems.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production support, inventory control, materials management, logistics, or a related field.
• Associate degree, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing material flow, inventory control, and WIP management practices.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, BOMs, pick lists, labels, travelers, and production documentation.
• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, MES, and inventory management systems.
• Understanding of inventory accuracy, lot and serial traceability, and material staging practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to recognize issues requiring escalation and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Stage, replenish, and transport materials, components, consumables, tooling, fixtures, and WIP to support multiple manufacturing work cells.
• Monitor production areas for material shortages, excess inventory, or misplaced materials impacting efficiency.
• Deliver materials according to production schedules, work order priorities, and manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain organized, clean, audit-ready work areas with proper staging, labeling, and visual controls.
• Assist with line changeovers, work cell setup activities, and material readiness efforts.
• Record material movements in ERP, MES, or other systems to maintain accurate inventory and WIP visibility.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, lot and serial information, and material condition before issuing or moving materials.
• Identify discrepancies involving inventory accuracy, damaged materials, or system/location mismatches.
• Coordinate with Inventory Control, Receiving, Planning, and Production to resolve routine material availability issues.
