Materials Engineering Testing Inspector (METI) – Concrete Repair & EOP SystemsCompany: Colorado Network Staffing (CNS)Position SummaryColorado Network Staffing (CNS) is seeking an experienced Materials Engineering Testing Inspector (METI) to support a client conducting field testing of Electro-Osmotic Pulse (EOP) technology for controlling water leakage through cracks in concrete hydraulic structures. This position will provide subject matter expertise in EOP system installation and operation, concrete repair, chemical and cementitious grouting, field inspection, and technical evaluation.The METI will review proposed EOP installation locations and contractor plans, inspect system installation, evaluate system performance, analyze demonstration results, and provide technical recommendations regarding potential applications of EOP technology. Extensive experience with concrete dams and hydraulic structures, chemical and cementitious grouting, concrete leak repair, and EOP technology is required.Essential FunctionsEOP System Evaluation & Technical SupportReview dam schematics, photographs, and available project information to identify appropriate locations for installation and testing of EOP systems.Provide recommendations regarding EOP system placement based on structure conditions, cracking, water leakage, and demonstration objectives.Evaluate locations and conditions where EOP technology may provide an effective solution for controlling water infiltration through concrete structures.Apply subject matter expertise regarding EOP technology, installation requirements, and system operation.Evaluate critical factors affecting system performance, including concrete cracking, water pressure, leakage conditions, and installation configuration.Provide technical recommendations regarding potential future applications of EOP systems at concrete hydraulic structures.Concrete Repair & Grouting ReviewReview contractor plans for concrete repair and EOP system installation.Evaluate proposed designs, materials, procedures, and operational requirements associated with chemical and cementitious grouting.Review the proposed areas requiring grouting and identify potential installation concerns or technical issues.Evaluate grout materials and application methods for suitability with concrete dams and appurtenant hydraulic structures.Provide recommendations regarding chemical grout materials, cementitious grouts, and grout application techniques.Apply extensive concrete repair experience to evaluate conditions that may affect the success of EOP demonstrations.Field Inspection & System InstallationPerform on-site inspection during EOP system installation.Observe installation activities for consistency with approved plans, procedures, and demonstration objectives.Evaluate installation conditions and identify potential issues that could affect system operation or testing results.Document field observations and prepare installation inspection reports.Communicate significant installation or contractor performance issues to the Project Manager.Work collaboratively with project personnel and contractors while maintaining an independent technical evaluation of system installation and performance.Operational Review & Performance EvaluationConduct periodic reviews of EOP system operations following installation.Evaluate system performance and identify opportunities to improve operation.Review field observations and operational data to determine whether demonstration objectives are being achieved.Provide recommendations for operational adjustments or improvements.Perform a final technical review and analysis of EOP system performance.Analyze demonstration results and develop recommendations regarding the effectiveness and potential application of the technology.Identify conditions, locations, and types of hydraulic structures where EOP technology may be beneficial.Technical Documentation & ReportingPrepare detailed installation inspection reports documenting field observations and findings.Prepare periodic operational reviews and technical recommendations.Analyze project results and document conclusions in a clear and technically supportable manner.Prepare a final technical report using the client's required report template.Document recommendations regarding system performance, operational improvements, and potential future applications.Prepare professional technical documentation consistent with client standards.Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software to prepare technical reports and supporting documentation.QualificationsRequired QualificationsMinimum of ten (10) years of recent experience utilizing chemical and cementitious grouts for the repair of concrete dams and appurtenant hydraulic structures.Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the installation and operation of Electro-Osmotic Pulse (EOP) systems.Extensive knowledge of concrete repair materials and methodologies.Expertise with various chemical grout materials, cementitious grouts, and grout application methods.Experience performing and specifying concrete repair work on dams and related hydraulic structures.Knowledge of EOP technology, system components, and operational requirements.Experience with EOP system installation and operational analysis.Ability to evaluate concrete leakage conditions and recommend appropriate repair or mitigation approaches.Ability to analyze technical results and develop clear recommendations.Strong technical writing skills and ability to prepare reports consistent with client standards.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.Preferred QualificationsExtensive experience working on concrete dams, spillways, galleries, and other hydraulic
