Job summary

Colorado Network Staffing seeks an experienced Construction Manager to support a federal client during the construction phase through completion. You will provide technical and administrative support to the project Field Engineer, assist with construction oversight, contract compliance, quality assurance, safety, scheduling, and field coordination.

The role requires review of plans, specifications, submittals, and documentation to ensure work aligns with contract requirements and engineering

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 7+ years of contract management and inspection experience.
  • Experience with water conveyance structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Current CPR and AED certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction modifications, plans, specs, quantities, and schedules to ensure contract compliance.
  • Oversee field QA/QC and safety requirements; monitor daily inspection reports.
  • Evaluate submittals, haul/borrow plans, and field documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with Field Engineer, project management, and stakeholders on progress and issues.
  • Document non-compliant work within required project timeframes and communicate findings.

Construction ManagerCompany: Colorado Network Staffing (CNS)Position SummaryColorado Network Staffing (CNS) is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a federal client during the construction phase of assigned projects through completion. This position will provide technical and administrative support to the project Field Engineer and assist with construction oversight, contract compliance, quality assurance, safety, scheduling, and field coordination.The Construction Manager will review construction plans, specifications, modifications, schedules, submittals, and technical documentation to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, engineering standards, and approved procedures. Experience with federal construction, water conveyance structures, earthen structures, embankment construction, slurry cutoff walls, quality control, and construction inspection is strongly preferred.Essential FunctionsConstruction Management & Contract ComplianceReview construction modifications, plans, specifications, quantity estimates, and project schedules during the construction process.Verify compliance with applicable engineering standards, contract requirements, drawings, and procedures.Review contractor submittals, including haul and borrow plans, construction schedules, work plans, and related technical documentation.Monitor construction activities for technical and contractual compliance.Identify potential construction issues and provide support in developing solutions to minimize delays.Assist with resolving technical questions related to inspection, materials testing, contractor operations, equipment, procedures, and construction methods.Quality Assurance & Field OversightProvide guidance to field staff regarding quality assurance, quality control, and construction safety requirements.Assist with daily inspection reports and documentation of labor, materials, equipment, and field activities.Oversee quality control materials testing for concrete, embankment structures, and related construction features.Review field documentation and technical reports for accuracy and completeness.Provide written documentation of non-compliant work within required project timeframes.Support field staff in applying standard construction practices and inspection procedures.Project Coordination & CommunicationAttend and document project meetings, construction meetings, and field coordination activities.Review documents related to construction and field operations.Provide project information through oral communication, written reports, and technical correspondence.Report construction progress, safety concerns, contractual issues, and potential delays to appropriate project personnel.Communicate significant discussions with construction contractor personnel regarding contractual or safety matters.Coordinate with the Field Engineer, project management, contractor personnel, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.Safety & Technical SupportMonitor construction activities for compliance with applicable safety requirements and the contractor's safety and health plan.Support field personnel in identifying and addressing construction safety concerns.Apply knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements, including Hearing Conservation and Fall Protection.Assist with technical evaluations involving contractor methods, procedures, equipment, materials, and construction operations.QualificationsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma.Minimum of seven (7) years of extensive contract management and construction inspection experience.Relevant experience with water conveyance structures.Experience inspecting earthen structures, embankment removal and construction, and slurry cutoff wall installation.Professional-level ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.Experience reviewing construction schedules and contractor submittals.Experience overseeing quality control materials testing for concrete and embankment structures.In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, engineering concepts, principles, and practices.Experience assisting with construction management of major construction contracts.Experience monitoring construction activities for technical and contractual compliance.Experience training entry-level field staff in standard construction practices.Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare correspondence, technical reports, and supporting documentation.General knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements.Current CPR and AED certification.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and standard email applications.Ability to communicate professionally at a government document level, both orally and in writing.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal construction projects.Experience with major civil infrastructure or water-related construction.Experience with construction quality assurance and contractor oversight.Experience supporting field engineering teams on large or complex construction projects.Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling, materials testing, and contractor coordination.Key CompetenciesConstruction ManagementContract ComplianceQuality Assurance & Quality ControlConstruction InspectionSchedulingTechnical DocumentationProblem SolvingProject CoordinationOral & Written CommunicationLeadership & TeamworkSafety AwarenessConstruction Industry KnowledgeWork EnvironmentThis position regularly works in and around active construction sites and may involve field work, office work, and off-site project visits as required. Work hours may vary depending on project and construction schedules.
