Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a materials-related field such as materials science, materials engineering, metallurgy, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with experimental design and statistical data analysis is preferred.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and interpret material property data.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating equipment to measure material properties such as tensile strength, surface roughness, and microstructure.
• Support generation and tracking of quality metrics for printed parts (dimensional accuracy, defects, surface roughness).
• Organize, analyze, and help interpret materials data and present findings.
• Assist in sample preparation techniques (cutting, grinding, polishing, acid etching, optical microscopy).
• Support process development by linking material findings to printing process improvements.
• Help establish procedures for measuring and quantifying material quality.
