Job summary

Entegris in Chaska, MN is seeking a Materials Engineering Co-Op to join the team for the Spring 2027 season. This 6‑month assignment focuses on advancing next‑gen polymer materials for semiconductor applications and reports to the Materials Engineering Senior Manager.

You will lead cross‑functional polymer development projects, create material solutions based on customer needs, and develop qualification plans.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials / Chemical / Polymer Engineering
• Strong analytical background with chemical/polymer analysis experience
• Experience with polymer formulation and material development rules

Responsibilities

• Lead polymer development projects with cross‑functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, product management, sales, marketing, and global supply management)
• Develop materials solutions per customer-defined product and application needs
• Develop qualification plans and success criteria for a given application
• Provide support to engineering and other departments on new and existing materials issues
• Investigate materials failures to determine root cause and work with cross-functional teams to recommend corrective actions
• Document work via data packages and material specifications

The Role:

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Materials Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. The Advanced Purity Solutions, Materials Engineering Team is seeking a creative and innovative individual to help accelerate the development of next generation materials to meet the needs of leading semiconductor technology developers. This role of Materials Engineering Co‑op reports to the Materials Engineering Senior Manager. AI, loT, Automation, and Digitization are fueling growth in the semiconductor industry. This is creating opportunities at Entegris as we develop leading-edge polymeric materials to meet these technology demands. What You’ll Do:

• Lead polymer development projects involving cross‑functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, product management, sales, marketing, and global supply management)
• Use your expertise to create materials solutions based on customer‑defined product and application needs
• Develop qualification plans and success criteria for a given application
• Provide support to engineering and other departments(manufacturing, processing, incoming quality, etc.) on new and existing materials issues
• Investigate materials failures to determine root cause and work with cross functional teams to recommend corrective actions
• Document work via data packages and material specifications

What We Seek:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials / Chemical / Polymer Engineering
• Experience/exposure with formulation and development of polymeric compounds
• Analytical background with working knowledge of chemical and polymer analysis laboratory instrumentation and methodologies
• Knowledge of polymer manufacturing and processing including injection molding, rotomolding, blow molding, and extrusion
• Experience using structured DOE and statistical methods in an R&D environment
• Understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action processes and tools
• Experience in a global R&D environment is preferred

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Materials / Chemical / Polymer Engineering Target Graduation Date of December 2027 or May 2028

Eligibility:

• Must be a currently enrolled student
• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
• Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co‑op program

• Compensation: $20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
