Castelion is seeking a Materials Engineer to join our team in Torrance, California. This role requires a recent graduate or early-career engineer focused on R&D development for ceramic matrix composite fabrication, specifically for high-performance thermal protection systems.

Responsibilities include supporting composite layup and densification operations, conducting material characterization, and analyzing process data. The ideal candidate should have a degree in a relevant field and a willingness to work in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with SEM and metallographic techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment.
• Must be willing to work weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support composite layup and densification operations.
• Conduct characterization activities of finished C/SiC goods.
• Collect, organize, and analyze process data for optimization.
