Job summary

HEICO Corporation, a leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a Materials Engineer for its Seal Dynamics Business Unit in Tampa, FL. You will review supplier certifications, develop test plans, and coordinate with outside labs to ensure first article and production parts meet aerospace standards.

You will perform in-house materials testing with XRF, FTIR, Rockwell and Shore hardness, and help maintain material and process specifications in line with ASTM, AMS and MIL standards.

Qualifications

• Documentation review of materials and supplier certs.
• Plan and develop materials tests for first article/production parts.
• Coordinate with outside labs and review test reports.
• Maintain aerospace material specifications (ASTM, AMS, MIL).
• Support in-house materials testing and passivation processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform an in-depth documentation review of materials received and process certifications from suppliers for first article and production parts.
• Develop reverse engineering materials test plans to be sent to outside labs.
• Provide support in preparation of documentation required to send first article and production parts to outside Materials Analysis labs.
• Interface with outside labs, Review test reports for accuracy and complete test plans.
• Perform in-house materials testing with XRF equipment, FTIR, Rockwell hardness, Shore hardness and passivation test.
• Develop and maintain materials and process specifications in compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., ASTM, AMS, MIL).
