Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Technician Materials Distribution to manage the Kanban system, stock levels, and timely fulfillment of clinical supply needs. You will monitor and replenish inventory, support Kanban nodes, and resolve supply issues with precision and teamwork.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a distribution environment, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to train on an electric pallet jack within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in supply distribution systems or related field.
  • Must be able to be trained and certified to operate an electric pallet jack within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stock replenishment in inventory locations and supply units.
  • Maintain Kanban program via daily management system (DMS).
  • Build strong relationships with clinical areas and users.
  • Uphold standard work processes and procedures.
  • Keep work spaces clean and organized per lean/5S principles.
  • Participate in team huddles to optimize Kanban operations and end-user service.
  • Support a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.
  • Distribute received supplies to appropriate storage areas and check expiration dates.

About the Role: Job Summary

The Technician Materials Distribution is responsible for the upkeep of the Kanban system. Requires constant monitoring of ordered supplies, and stock levels of items stocked in the hospital. Through strict adherence to the Kanban daily management system (DMS), the Technician insures the Kanban program functions efficiently by upholding standards, performing stocking of the Kanban on nodes, and addressing customer needs in a timely and precise manner. Resolves critical supply issues timely and escalating unresolved issues to the Supervisor.

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications: Able to be trained and certified on the use of an electric pallet jack within 30 days of hire.
  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum Experience: One (1) year work experience in a field utilizing supply distribution systems and processes.

  • Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, crouch, push/pull, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted (hospital environment – warehouse, clinical areas, etc.)
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Performs supply stocking in inventory locations and in supply units.
  • M entains all aspects of the Kanban program through the use of the daily management system (DMS).
  • Creates and maintains strong relationships in clinical areas.
  • Upholds and follows standard work processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Sweeps, straightens and generally keeps work-spaces clean and tidy, adhering to the tenets of lean methodologies and 5S.
  • Participates in regular team huddles to ensure Kanban operations are meeting the needs of the end-user community and continuously improving.
  • Supports a safe working environment including compliance with all regulatory requirements and all other hospital, state, and federal safety policies.
  • Facilitates the distribution of received supplies to the appropriate storage areas within the inventory control room.
  • Conducts expiration date checks on all stock items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
