MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consult internal and external clients regarding effective corrosion control strategies, including monitoring and inspection activities.
- Perform Damage Mechanism Reviews (DMRs) based on process chemistries, operating parameters, materials, and corrosion mitigation methods employed by clients.
- Prepare corrosion-related documents such as Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) and Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs).
- Assist with developing inspection strategies targeting damage mechanisms.
- Provide expertise in material selection, corrosion, inspection planning, and fabrication for client projects.
- Assist in developing internal process standardization for DMR.
- Develop and deliver training for internal teams and clients on materials, welding, inspection, and corrosion engineering.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. in engineering, mathematics, or a related science discipline
- 5+ years of corrosion engineering experience in the refining/petrochemical industries for static equipment
- In-depth knowledge of API 571 and NACE/AMPP Standards and corrosion prevention strategies
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and technical reporting
Additional Qualifications/Experience:
- Owner-operator experience or understanding of refining and petrochemical process units
- Experience with heat treatment, corrosion-resistant alloys, welding metallurgy, coatings, thermal spray, insulation, brittle fracture, and FFS
- Knowledge of API 510, 570, 579, 653, inspection planning, and NDT methods
- Familiarity with ASME VIII Div. 1 & 2, and ASME B31 codes
- Working knowledge of API 580, 581, and RBI software (e.g., PCMS, GE APM, Capstone, API RBI, Tischuk, S-RBI)
- Expected travel of approximately 20%
