Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) was founded in 2022 by a team of career telecom and construction professionals and needs a Logistics Manager to help us flourish. GRC looks to leverage the latest technologies and utilize the best-in- industry equipment, construction, and safety practices to build a first-class nationwide fiber optic construction firm. This position is responsible for working with the Vice President of Operations, Director of Operations, and sub-contractors to ensure operations run smoothly. The successful candidate must be adept in data management, logistics, and operations, be excited about opportunities to learn and grow in their career and be able to execute various projects at a time. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations and represents an opportunity to join an excellent team on the ground floor and learn a lot as GRC grows!

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage inventory of tools, materials, and supplies, ensuring accuracy and availability.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including vendor negotiations and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate the delivery and distribution of supplies to job sites in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems and software.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and legal standards related to material storage and transportation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to forecast material needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must have valid driver's license
  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or inventory management (construction or telecom industry preferred).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., Verify, Zoho, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and equipment is a plus.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with logistics management in the construction or telecom industry.
  • Familiarity with supply chain optimization strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to forecast material needs and manage budgets.
  • Experience implementing or improving inventory management systems.
  • Ability to lead and train a team to maintain efficient supply chain processes.
  • Knowledge of local vendors and suppliers is a bonus.
