Job summary

Abzena is seeking a Materials Control Coordinator II in Bucks County, PA to manage receiving, stocking, and distribution in a cGMP environment with ERP data entry and strict SOP compliance.

You will coordinate with Purchasing, QA/QC, and manufacturing, perform cycle counts, manage material flow, and support client audits while maintaining 6S discipline and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years’ experience in materials management.
  • 2+ years’ experience in GMP environments.
  • Ability to read and understand SOPs in English.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and biologic environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work within the Quality Management System.
  • Receive, inspect and store materials in a cGMP environment.
  • Enter data accurately in ERP for material transactions.
  • Perform receipt of incoming materials and verify against specs.
  • Maintain receiving documentation per SOPs and QA controls.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and AP to resolve invoices.
  • Support inventory control, cycle counts, and wall-to-wall counts.
  • Package and ship materials and samples to customers/testing facilities.
  • Assist client audits and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Adhere to 6S and safety standards and communicate effectively.

The Materials Control Coordinator II is responsible for receiving, shipping, stocking and distributing material, equipment, and products, documenting daily warehouse operations and material flow in a cGMP environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support and work within the Quality Management System.
  • Comply with all documentation needs, practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform timely and accurate data entry in Enterprise Resource System (ERP) for material transactions.
  • Perform receipt of incoming materials.
  • Check materials received against specifications, vendor shipping documents and purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Accurately maintain all receiving documentation to comply with internal procedures and or SOPs.
  • Follow best practices related to the systems and process that support material inventory, purchasing, and material control. Provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to resolve any supplier invoice issues or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel, ensuring timely testing and release of materials.
  • Conduct cycle counts and wall-to-wall counts as needed.
  • Pick and stage materials for manufacturing and laboratory support.
  • Support accurate client billing and raw material traceability through timely processing of return to stock items.
  • Inspect stock for damage/product integrity
  • Maintain organization of work areas through 6S (sort, straighten, standardize, shine, sustain, safety).
  • Interact with Manufacturing and laboratory departments to reconcile inventory variances.
  • Perform packaging and shipping of materials and samples to customers and/or testing facilities. Monitor shipments and update of any potential delays.
  • Provide backup support to leadership for client audits.
  • Manage effective relationships with suppliers as well as internal and external clients.
  • Manage multiple changing priorities.
  • Operate heavy equipment and vehicles to move materials
  • Operate to the highest ethical and moral standards.
  • Comply with Abzena's policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, colleagues and staff.
  • Participate effectively as a team player in all aspects of Abzena's business.
  • Adhere to quality standards set by regulations and Abzena policies, procedures, and mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years’ experience in materials management.
  • 2+ years of experience with GMP environments
  • Ability to read and understand and carry out Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and other Quality Process Documentation in English.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the manufacturing and biologic environment preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft office.
  • Working knowledge of the ERP system.
Physical Requirementsa
  • Ability to stand for 1-2 hours at a time, sit for 2 to 3 hours at a time.
  • Frequently lift and or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk during entire length of shift.
  • Use arms, hands and fingers to handle, feel or reach.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Visual abilities including near and far sight, color, peripheral vision, depth and ability to focus.
