Job summary

Mastronardi Produce is seeking a nights-shift Materials Associate to support the Materials Supervisor with daily material requirements. You will organize stock, perform cycle counts, operate the pallet jack and forklift, and assist with shipping and receiving in a refrigerated warehouse.

Two years in a Materials department and strong MS Office skills are preferred. High school diploma required; post-secondary education is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
• 2+ years in a Materials/warehouse environment.
• Experience with shipping, receiving and inventory is an asset.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Keep stock organized and accessible.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and notify supervisor.
• Perform physical counts of inventory, including weekly counts.
• Operate vertical conveyor and move inventory with pallet jack, cart, forklift.
• Load/off-load trailers and delivery trucks; fill and ship orders accurately.
• Ensure proper documentation and courteous handling of shipments.
• Monitor packaging to keep warehouse floor clear and safe.
• Pull and verify materials for packing samples.

Job description

Shift: A2 (Nights) Full time shifts: Sunday-Tuesday 6 pm - 6 am and half day Wednesday 6pm-12am

Primary Function:

The essential function of this position is to assist the Materials Supervisor regarding daily material requirements. The individual is responsible for a wide variety of duties including but not limited to this job description.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Keep stock organized and readily accessible.
• Reconcile discrepancies in inventories and notify supervisor of irregularities.
• Perform physical counts of inventory, including weekly top-seal inventory.
• Operate vertical conveyor.
• Move inventory to various locations manually by operating pallet jack, hand cart and forklift.
• Load and off load trailers and delivery truck.
• Fill and ship orders, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation.
• Ensure that boxes are stored on trailers or sent upstairs.
• Monitor packaging on the floor with the goal of keeping the warehouse floor clear.
• Pull and verify all materials required for packing samples (clam, boxes and bags, etc.).
• High School Graduate, Post- Secondary education preferred.
• At least two years' experience in a Materials department required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Shipping, receiving and inventory experience an asset.
• Be respectful and deal tactfully with customers, other employees and vendors.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with MS Office: Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Must have ability to effectively follow-up and handle multiple projects with strong personal time-management.
• Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Willingness to work independently, with minimal supervision and take ownership of job.
• Willingness to work with a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain all company information confidential and protect proprietary information.
