Base pay range

Solu is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to support a utility client’s construction and maintenance operations. The role involves coordinating material ordering, inventory management, and delivery logistics to keep projects on schedule. The Materials Coordinator will work with warehouse teams, contractors, and internal departments to track materials, manage costs, and resolve discrepancies, using enterprise work management and inventory systems to support budget and operational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating ordering, scheduling, delivery, and material management for construction / maintenance projects.
  • Identify shortages and special material requirements to eliminate project delays.
  • Prepare required documentation to track cost, discrepancies, and special needs.
  • Perform support to verify, analyze and reconcile materials and major equipment to account for quantities, cost, and equipment identification.
  • Contractor will be moving material in and out of stock, making material returns, and coordinating with warehouse personnel on material request demands.
  • May be assigned various administrative level duties in support of the office.
  • Provide training and technical support to other personnel in the utilization of MLIS, MAXIMO, Decision Support, work processes and accounting systems and principals.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure transfer and direct buy levels meet Material Request demands. Plan, order, and ensure required materials are in the storeroom. Prepare all documentation to issue and receive material for contract jobs, and to track costs.
  • Investigate and maintain accurate information on equipment and materials in MLIS, MAXIMO and Decision Support computer databases.
  • Approve and monitor material requested for construction/maintenance projects and expedite critical material needed to meet project completion dates.
  • Identify material shortages and take required steps to expedite and eliminate delays.
  • Serve as liaison between the Warehouse, Hauling, external transportation agents, Reclamation and Users. Ensure accurate and timely deliveries to the warehouse and job sites.
  • Provide cost management information to management to assist in meeting Capital and O&M budget goals.
  • Perform special projects regarding warehouse and inventory issues as requested by management.
  • Research and resolve material discrepancies for specific projects and jobs. Complete journal vouchers assuring that charges are correctly distributed.
  • Effectively interface with various departments/contractors to ensure conflicts are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in material management
  • Experience using work management programs preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
