Qualifications

Primary r esponsible for performing all cycle count activities as outlined in Tenneco’s Global Cycle Count Policy. This includes scheduled and ad hoc physical counts, auditing production counts, performing reconciliation activities and maintaining accurate records with great attention to detail. The Inventory Control Specialist will provide analysis of reconciliation problems and lead cross functional group to develop solutions.

Accountability required maintaining the process controls necessary to achieve top inventory accuracy results.

Perform as a back-up to Materials Supervisor and to production/Shipping & Receiving PIV operation as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide perpetual inventory control and weekly reconciliation of all substrates.
• Conduct all cycle counts as required by the ABC selection in the timeframe required.
• Perform all ad hoc counts as shortages or excesses are identifying through routine production.
• Establish a good cut-off point between count and inventory system to determine the cause for any inaccuracies.
• Reconcile differences between actual count and inventory system to determine the cause for any inaccuracies.
• Prepare the necessary inventory adjustment paperwork if necessary, and present to appropriate management personnel for approval.
• Ability to conduct reconciliations: Performs forensic analysis of inventory variances, makes the necessary adjustments in SAP, and educates those responsible, identify trends and develop corrective actions.
• Review, sign-off and maintain accurate records of all counts, reconciliations and inventory adjustments in accordance with financial policies. Provide subject matter expertise when audits are required.
• Provide organizational training, leadership and accountability to maintain the process controls required to sustain outstanding inventory accuracy.
• Lead appropriate teams to address inventory errors and develop corrective actions to correct error causes.
• Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess a high school diploma or GED
• One to three years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of computer software (SAP, word processing, spreadsheets, charts, etc)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to think logically and proactively coordinate work between business units and ensure follow through on implementation.
• Must work well in a team environment

• Individual should have knowledge of SAP Inventory Software, Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes Software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office environment – includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.
• Manufacturing environment – includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
• Some travel which could include an overnight stay.
