Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking a Materials Capacity Program Manager (B4) to lead capacity planning and supplier risk management within the DDP Supply Chain team.

You will forecast capacity, build supplier roadmaps, negotiate with suppliers, and drive multi-quarter ramp readiness with cross-functional partners across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to ensure on-time delivery in a global semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Forecasts and communicates capacity, demand, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; performs capacity-vs-demand gap analysis to identify constraints and drive mitigation actions ahead of ramp needs.
• Leads cross-functional capacity reviews, coordinating with SAMs, SEs, DEAs, and Commodity Business Managers to prioritize actions and resolve supplier collision points.
• Develops supplier capacity strategies, supply heat maps, and supplier playbooks to support ramp readiness through multi-quarter forecasts.
• Assists in supplier capacity and delivery negotiations; negotiates capacity commitments under direct supervision and completes supplier risk assessments on critical/limited parts.
• Monitors supplier performance against capacity commitments (utilization, lead time, quality) and tracks key metrics like Capacity vs. Demand %, QBR completion, and Risk Buy Plan impact.
• Executes capacity add and qualification/second-source projects, including supplier onboarding and SNF qualifications for critical parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Forecasts and communicates capacity, demand, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; performs capacity-vs-demand gap analysis to identify constraints and drive mitigation actions ahead of ramp needs.
• Leads cross-functional capacity reviews, coordinating with SAMs, SEs, DEAs, and Commodity Business Managers to prioritize actions and resolve supplier collision points.
• With limited/no supervision, develops and updates supplier capacity strategies, supply heat maps, and supplier playbooks to support ramp readiness through multi-quarter forecasts.
• Sourcing: Assists in supplier capacity and delivery negotiations; may negotiate capacity commitments under direct supervision. Completes supplier risk assessments on critical, unique, or constrained parts.
• Monitors supplier performance against capacity commitments (utilization, output, lead time, quality) and tracks key metrics such as Capacity vs. Demand %, QBR completion, and Risk Buy Plan impact.
• Executes capacity add and qualification/second-source projects, including supplier onboarding, exit strategy planning, SNF qualifications and F29 qualification support for critical/CRSL parts.
• Manages materials change control related to capacity actions; generates and publishes Key Process Indicators; tracks progress against target parts and constraint heatmap outputs.
• Works with engineering and manufacturing to identify long-lead, critical, and constrained parts; leads development of supplier and commodity capacity roadmaps.
• Actively mediates and partners with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier capacity or quality issues for assigned commodities; escalates to Commodity Business Managers and BU executives as needed.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
