Job summary

VFP is seeking an inventory and purchasing clerk in Duffield, VA. The role focuses on maintaining stock, supporting production schedules, expediting deliveries, and coordinating with vendors and departments to ensure timely material availability.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in purchasing and supply chain, a valid driver’s license, and strong skills with Microsoft Office and inventory/payroll systems. This is an on-site position in Duffield, VA.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1–2 years in purchasing and supply chain.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to our insurance policy.
• Knowledge of algebra, geometry and mathematical formulas.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and familiarity with inventory and payroll systems.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Review stock material in warehouse for order placement and replacement.
• Verify and count stock in warehouse locations for work order changes.
• Perform bi-annual inventory and as needed.
• Review purchase requisitions and verify quantities vs inventory levels.
• Place indirect orders for maintenance, service calls, and plant upgrades.
• Follow up on back orders, expedite deliveries, and notify departments.
