Eaton South Bend is seeking a Materials Attendant Specialist – 1st Shift. The role focuses on packing, visually inspecting, and shipping product to customers, serving as the final quality checkpoint for finished goods.

Responsibilities include operating cleaners, moving material with forklifts, scheduling trucks, weighing parts, maintaining inventory, and performing preventive maintenance. High school diploma required; must be able to work in a team in South Bend, IN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (within 50 miles) of South Bend, IN will be considered for this position.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Ability to work in a team environment.

The hourly rate for this position is 20.11 per hour. Core Hours are 6 AM - 2:20 PM

What You’ll Do

Eaton South Bend is searching for a Materials Attendant Specialist –to join our team. Materials Attendants are responsible for the packing, visually inspecting, and shipping product for and to South Bend’s customers. These professionals play very integral part in being South Bends last line of defense for product quality.

• Determine acceptable quality by using visual inspection techniques and precision equipment.
• Operate the shot peen equipment and package parts for shipment.

Basic Qualifications:

Additional Information

Physical Demands:

• Ability to frequently move and/or lift forgings and dies weighing from 3-36lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk the entire shift.
• Ability to hear and talk to other teammates while working.
• Ability to visually detect quality defects during production.

Environmental Conditions

• Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes, wetness and/or humidity during production operations
• Ability to tolerate noise at a time weighted average of 97 decibels and occasional vibration due to use of tools and equipment.
• Ability to tolerate fumes from forge press, forklifts, Tennant Sweeper, welding and cutting operations
• Ability to tolerate occasional graphite/water mist from forging operation
