Job summary

Covestro in Pittsburgh, PA offers an internship with the Application Development and Product Technology groups in the Engineering Plastics business. You will support improving material performance by testing formulations and chemistries, assist with CAD design using state‑of‑the‑art tools, and perform hands-on mechanical/thermal testing in our labs.

You will collaborate with project teams, document results, and help drive design concepts.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
Must have completed the Freshmen year of college.
College GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Responsibilities

Devise test plans to understand how material formulation influences key physical properties.
Coordinate experimental work including material preparation, injection molding and materials testing.
Conduct mechanical and thermal part and sample testing using advanced lab equipment.
Analyze data and prepare a summary that succinctly conveys key conclusions to project stakeholders.
Conduct/support advanced injection molding and processing studies.
Develop design concepts using CAD software.
Support the marketing efforts by preparing required information, reports and presentations.
