Job summary

Sinomax USA, Inc. is seeking a Materials Analyst to support purchasing, production planning, and inventory management. The role focuses on maintaining accurate material data and translating it into supply chain insights to safeguard production and delivery timelines.

The analyst will monitor shortages, lead-time impacts, and inventory health, developing data-driven plans and dashboards to optimize material availability and minimize excess inventory at our La Vergne manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, SCM, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least three years of experience in supply chain analytics, material planning, or production planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, SQL, and Excel VBA.

Responsibilities

• Analyze daily supply chain and production metrics to identify material shortages, inventory discrepancies, production constraints, and other operational issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with Supply Chain, Production, and Warehouse teams.
• Evaluate material shortages, capacity gaps, and execution risks that could affect production plans and deliveries.
• Support purchase-order planning by analyzing material requirements, supplier lead times, and inventory.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor material availability and support decisions.
• Develop time-phased and just-in-time material supply plans with Operations.
• Analyze inventory, consumption, and aging stock to inform business decisions.
• Assist with material returns, scrap transactions, and inventory adjustments.
• Ensure adherence to established Materials Department procedures.

Job description

Sinomax is in need of a Materials Analyst to support purchasing, production planning, and inventory management by maintaining accurate material and planning data and translating that information into actionable supply chain insights. This position monitors material requirements, inventory availability, shortages, consumption, and planning parameters. It identifies supply risks and data discrepancies and works across departments to resolve issues that could affect production and customer delivery. THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN OUR LA VERGNE TN MANUFACTURING FACILITY. A relocation package is not offered.
Specifically, this role will be responsible for the following duties:

• Analyze daily supply chain and production metrics to identify material shortages, inventory discrepancies, production constraints, and other operational issues involving PU foam, covers, fabric, packaging materials, and other production inputs.
• Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with Supply Chain, Production, and Warehouse teams.
• Evaluate material shortages, capacity gaps, and execution risks that could affect production-plan attainment, customer delivery commitments, or other business objectives. Communicate findings and recommendations to Planning, Purchasing, and Production teams.
• Support purchase-order planning and maintenance by analyzing material requirements, supplier lead times, available inventory, and supplier-held inventory.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor material availability and support purchasing and planning decisions.
• Develop time-phased and just-in-time material supply plans in collaboration with Operations to ensure material availability while controlling inventory levels.
• Analyze available and incoming inventory, material consumption, processing activity, and aging inventory to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Develop and implement plant-level inventory strategies designed to improve inventory turnover and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
• Prepare requests for material deviations or substitutions, track approvals, communicate status to affected stakeholders, and implement approved changes.
• Assist with material returns, scrap transactions, and miscellaneous inventory adjustments.
• Ensure that established company procedures are followed in connection with all Materials Department activities.

To qualify for this role, you should bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a closely related quantitative or analytical discipline.
• At least three years of experience in supply chain analytics, material planning, or production planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Power BI, SQL, and Excel VBA for data analysis, reporting, or process automation.
• Strong analytical, statistical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams.
• Bilingual Mandarin/English communication skills would be a big plus
