This position follows the Wiredrawer pay track, so it starts at $22.7944/hour. You can make up to $26.8169/hour once fully trained. This position is also eligible for shift differential.

Overview

Determine the logistics for movement of materials, chemicals, packages, supplies, and equipment to FWM facilities in an organized and efficient manner; drive a box truck for daily delivery and pick up of listed items. Loading and unloading of the items to be delivered and picked up at each stop, utilizing a forklift, pallet jack or by hand depending on size and weight of items.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in material handling, shipping, receiving, or cargo delivery preferred
Job Responsibilities
  • Follow the planned daily route for accurate and timely delivery and pick up of cargo. Adjust route as necessary to accommodate changes based on new information. Communicate with a variety of personnel within facilities and your Warehouse Team Leader to determine priorities.
  • Read, understand, and translate information from work transfer sheets in order to prioritize and adjust for changes to delivery schedule; paying close attention to the details in order to determine if there are errors. Seek clarification to resolve errors.
  • Prepare, move, load, and unload cargo. When loading cargo into vehicles, you may need to install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit; recognizing the need for such tools to secure the load. Using hand tools, as necessary.
  • Safely drive box truck to transport cargo from one location to another while obeying traffic laws.
  • Comply with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations. Maintain all certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
  • Complete daily manifests for all hazardous materials, keep with correct container provide manifest to Environmental Manager. Ensure compliance with DOT manifests for hazardous material.
  • Ensure completion of routine truck maintenance, coordinate, as necessary. Keep the truck fueled. Report vehicle malfunctions to the Warehouse Team Leader.
  • Comply with posted signs and follow all delivery policies and procedures, such as shutting off the engine in "no idle zones" and chocking tires.
  • Keep detailed log of gross weight of cargo to ensure truck weight is in compliance with DOT regulations at all times. Adjust load size accordingly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck and workstation.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
Skills Needed
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Possess intermediate math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Must be able to work without close supervision and be capable of self-checking completed work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good hand dexterity, preferred.
  • Understand and apply safe work practices.
  • Must understand how to properly load and balance the truck.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Fast-paced production environment.
  • Work hours consist of 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime may sometimes be required.
  • May work with and around hazardous chemicals.
  • Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required.
  • Exposure to fluctuating temperatures may occur.
  • Average weights in production range from 10-25 lbs. Maximum weights may exceed 75-80 lbs. on occasion.
  • May be required to perform work above shoulder height.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting.
  • Sitting for periods of time while operating a motor vehicle.
  • Frequent climbing in/out of truck and forklift.
  • Loading and unloading cargo with the use of pallet jack/forklift and at times manually securing and rearranging loads
