Onward Search is representing a defense technology client seeking a Material Specialist I for a temporary, on-site role in Merrimack, NH. You will support receipt, packaging, labeling, shipping, storage, and related record-keeping to ensure compliance with requirements.

The position requires basic computer skills, light lifting, and ability to understand English in a technical context. This is a temporary assignment with full-time weekly hours.

• Familiarity with material-handling documents and basic shipping procedures.
• Ability to perform general clerical duties using basic computer skills.
• Ability to understand commercial English and apply basic mathematics where accuracy is important.
• Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.

Our client, a defense technology company, is seeking a Material Specialist I for a temporary, on-site position. The position also maintains related records and helps ensure shipping and receiving activities meet applicable requirements.

Material Specialist I Responsibilities:

• Inspect, count, weigh, log, and validate incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Move, load, unload, store, and retrieve materials using hand trucks, dollies, or forklifts.
• Process shipping and material documents, including purchase orders, receiving reports, freight bills, and packing slips.
• Prepare supply requisitions, maintain inventory levels, and follow up on backordered materials.
• Verify shipments against documentation, report discrepancies or damage, and package items according to applicable specifications.

Material Specialist I Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent.
• Familiarity with material-handling documents and basic shipping and receiving procedures gained through at least one year of experience.
• Ability to perform general clerical duties using basic computer skills.
• Ability to understand commercial English and apply basic mathematics where accuracy is important.
• Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting of up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
