Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking Material Specialists to join its Product Support and Logistics Division. The role involves safe material handling, warehousing, and operating equipment such as order pickers and forklifts where required.

Strong safety focus, teamwork, and reliability are essential as is the ability to work varying shifts. Starting wage is $20.96 per hour with a $1 per hour shift differential for third shift, plus overtime time-and-a-half and other comprehensive benefits.

What You Will Do:

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is seeking talented individuals for Material Specialist roles.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Safely perform the material handling and warehousing functions required in the receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Utilizing order pickers, reach trucks, and sit-down forklifts. Keep in mind, not all available positions operate equipment.
• Operate handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting and order processing.
• Perform housekeeping functions as required and reports defects and need for repairs.
• Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

• Experience: Demonstrated longevity of at least one year in previous employment
• Agility: Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually, walk approximately 10 to 12 miles per day, sit, stand, squat, and bend over repetitively and consistently, throughout your shift with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be comfortable working on equipment at heights up to 30 feet in the air.

• Starting wage is $20.96/hour plus $1/hour shift differential for third shift.
• Overtime opportunities paid at time and a half (some may be mandatory).
• Double time on the second worked day outside of the employee’s regular workweek schedule.

What to Expect After Applying:

• Candidates that meet the qualifications will receive a call from our talent acquisition team to talk through your qualifications and answer questions you may have.

• Candidates that have passed the phone screen will be sent an online assessment.

• Candidates who are successful with the phone screen and online assessment will be scheduled for an interview.

Shifts:

Actual shift availability varies week by week. Successful candidates will be started as soon as a position becomes available on their requested shift. Please note that this could mean a sizable waiting period before starting.

• 3rd Shift: Sunday night – Friday morning 10:00pm – 6:00am
