Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support shipment receipt, cycle counts, and material disposition within our aerospace and defense business.

You will collaborate with Operations to maintain Kanbans, manage hazardous material shipping, and assist with audits while demonstrating independence and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; AAS in Business or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience in Aerospace and Defense preferred, ideally in material management.
• Experience using ERP systems to move and ship materials.
• Inventory transactions, storage and cycle count experience required.
• Knowledge of hazardous material shipping; DOT CFR-49 and IATA cert a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Able to thrive in a dynamic, changeable work environment; energetic, positive, independent and entrepreneurial.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily shipment receipt and distribution, ensuring accurate inventory accounting.
• Supports weekly Cycle Count; manages count sheets and reconciles reports.
• Works with Operations to create and maintain expendable, production and vendor managed Kanbans.
• Works closely with Operations to manage Kitting program.
• Completes dispositions of excess project inventory and participates in material close-out; reconciles, disposes and accounts for E&O inventory.
• Supports Customer Furnished Property (CFP) program and supplier inventory process; reporting.
• Back up for hazardous material and inert product shipping.
• Outside audit preparation and support.
• Troubleshooting inventory issues and reconciliations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Supports daily shipment receipt and distribution process. Leads problem resolution to ensure accurate, timely accounting for incoming supplier inventory.
• Support the weekly Cycle Count process. Run, distribute, manage count sheets, and reconcile weekly reports. Lead corrective action process. Report results weekly.
• Work with Operations teams to create & maintain expendable, production and vendor managed Kanbans.
• Works closely with Operations teams to manage Kitting program.
• Work with Operation and Program team members to complete dispositions of excess project inventory and participate in material close-out activity. Assist with reconciliation, disposal and accounting for Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
• Support Customer Furnished Property (CFP) program and supplier inventory process. Leads problem resolution and performs reporting.
• Back up for hazardous material and inert product Shipping.
• Outside audit preparation and support.
• Trouble shooting inventory issues and reconciliations.

Requirements

• High School diploma minimum. AAS Business or equivalent experience is a plus.
• Experience working in Aerospace and Defense is desired; preferably in a material management organization.
• Experience using ERP systems to logically move and physically ship materials.
• Inventory transactions, storage and cycle count experience required.
• Knowledge of hazardous material shipping and movement experience desired. DOT CFR-49 and IATA Certification is a plus.
• Experience in Microsoft Office products; especially Word and Excel.
• Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environment. Energetic and positive. Ability to work independently. Processes an entrepreneurial spirit.
