Job summary

Goodwill Industries International, Inc. is seeking an entry-level team member for processing donated merchandise in Frederick, MD. Starting pay is $15.50 per hour, with emphasis on safety and adherence to PPE requirements.

You’ll help prepare items for sale to salvage vendors and support daily store operations. The role may include cross-training as a Retail Sales Associate or Forklift Operator, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and consistent attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to be trained and take direction.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Meets minimum quota for the department.

• Safeguards company property, including donated goods.
• Receives and processes merchandise.

Position Description

Processes required amount of donated merchandise in preparation for sale to salvage vendors for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Must have strong adherence to all safety policies and wearing all required personal protective equipment at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meets minimum quota set for assigned department.
• Inspects donated merchandise, as required, analyzing quality and determining proper category.
• Safeguards company property, including donated goods.
• Reports any incidents of theft or misappropriation or unauthorized possession of company property.
• May be cross‑trained to work as a Retail Sales Associate and/or Forklift Operator.
• Receives and processes merchandise.
• Maintains workstation in an organized and safe manner free from food, drink, or other personal items.
• Maintains a clean work environment, including restrooms, floors, walls, windows, and parking lots, as directed.
• Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment is used.
• Immediately takes action and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.

• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
