Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering with 6+ years of related experience, or a PhD with 4+ years of related experience.
• Experience characterizing microstructures using SEM, EDS, EBSD, EPMA.
• Ability to produce technical reports, journal articles, present at professional conferences.
• Experience with data analysis relating microstructure-chemistry-property relationships.
• Understand microstructure-property relationships in nickel and iron-based alloys.
• Must be able to meet access requirements for NETL campus.

Responsibilities

• Characterization using advanced microscopy techniques (SEM, EDS, EBSD, EPMA).
• Computational design and characterization of novel slags containing rare earth element byproducts for ESR of Nickel-based superalloys and steels.
• Evaluate slag compositions from computational simulation results.
• Write technical reports outlining lab results.
