Overview

The Role

Drive innovation in aerospace and defense by developing and optimizing energetic materials — propellants, initiators, and pyrotechnics. You’ll lead qualification testing, conduct mechanical and thermal analysis, and guide projects from proposal through production, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet performance, safety, and lifecycle requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Biology, or Chemistry
  • R&D and Chemist/Chemical background required
  • Explosives, pyrotechnics, and/or ordnance experience ideal
  • Ideally 5–10 years in aerospace design and manufacturing with technical lead experience
  • FAA standards and AS9100 quality management systems knowledge
  • SolidWorks or comparable CAD platform; failure analysis and test data interpretation
  • Stress analysis, FEA, machining practices, and product lifecycle management
  • Strong communication skills for supplier, customer, and internal team collaboration
Compensation & Schedule
  • Salary: $110K – $185K
  • Schedule: 4/10 Mon–Thu
  • Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Experience: 5–10 Years
