Job summary

BRAVA ROOF & TILE is seeking a Material Science Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations, perform routine testing, prepare samples, and ensure data integrity and safety compliance.

You will work Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, handling injection molding samples, documenting results, maintaining equipment, and supporting weekends if needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s or associate degree in chemistry, biology, polymer or material science is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety protocols and chemical handling.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing and analyses according to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Prepare raw materials, compounds, and samples for testing.
  • Accurately record and report data in laboratory notebooks, electronic systems, and databases.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory workspaces, ensuring equipment and instruments are in good working order.
  • Dispose of chemical and material waste according to safety protocols.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Laboratory Manager and weekday team to ensure smooth transition and continuity of work.
  • Assist in inventory management of lab supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Support additional testing, trials, or project work as needed during weekends.
  • Preparing samples on the injection molding machine and performing physical testing.
  • Testing includes, color, Tensile, moisture, MFI, Izod, impact strength, ball drop, and etc.
