Job summary

POSITION

Hood Packaging Corporation is seeking an experienced MATERIAL RESOURCE HANDLER for our TYLER, TEXAS FACILITY.

SCOPE OF POSITION

Packaging The MRH is responsible for movement of materials throughout the plant. This includes, but not limited to, retrieving and removal of needed materials, cores to support the assigned production department. Handles finished goods as needed in supporting the production department, and handling of scrap materials to include weighing, staging, and sorting the material generated in the production department.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Supplies production lines with all needed materials to promote efficient operations, including pallets, boxed resin, packaging materials (such as cardboard, pallets, covers, end pads, cradles, and cut cores) and handling of scrap materials. May at times be required to retrieve and or return press supplies.
  • Returns to designated storage areas all materials not currently needed by the department, such as pallets, packaging materials, boxed resin, and film.
  • Moves produced roll/bags to warehouse, weighing rolls/bags as needed. Band and stretch wrap finished goods and entering data as directed by supervision. Organizes warehouse WIP storage area. Runs floor sweeper in assigned areas and assures that good housekeeping requirements are met and maintained.
  • Assumes responsibility for scrap management by supplying and building scrap boxes for the production lines, weighing scrap (both rolls and boxes), hauling off and organizing full scrap boxes and rolls, and assuring all scrap tags are present, accurately filled out, and complete. Keeps scrap logs for all materials transferred to scrap areas. Enters scrap data in QAD as and if required.
