Job summary

Mark Anthony Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Materials Planner to manage material requirements planning for multiple facilities. You will forecast materials, coordinate inventory, mitigate obsolescence risk, and support ongoing optimization across networks.

The role includes developing and maintaining a proactive material planning forecast, driving supplier relationships, and supporting change-management projects within a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Forecast raw and packaging materials and communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance
• Maintain product changes and new item setup, including run-out plans
• Identify process improvements and lead cross-functional solutions
• Evaluate supply and obsolescence risks and develop contingency plans
• Assist in supplier quality assurance processes and KPI tracking
• Support metrics like case fill rate, OTIF, forecast accuracy, and continuity of supply
• Support innovation, commercialization, and change management

The Materials Planner is responsible for all aspects of material requirements planning for multiple facilities across the Mark Anthony Brewing network. They are responsible for inventory coordination, obsolescence risk mitigation, and procurement of materials to meet short and long-term production plans. They will also develop and maintain an optimized material planning forecast and network, and support innovation and change management projects.

Accountabilities:

• Prepare and distribute monthly and annual forecasts of raw & pack materials to suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Manage vendor relationships through material supply assurance and vendor performance evaluation
• Maintain product change and new item setup, providing run out plans where necessary
• Identify process improvement initiatives and lead cross-functional efforts to create solutions
• Evaluate potential supply and obsolescence risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks
• Assist in the development of Supplier Quality Assurance processes and metrics and tracking of related KPIs
• Service – Case Fill Rate, Supplier OTIF, Material Forecast accuracy, and continuity of material supply
• Cost – Material obsolescence and risk mitigation
• Innovation, Commercialization, and change management support

Own:

• Materials forecasting, inventory management, and related strategy
• Material obsolescence risk management
• New product introduction, change management, and transition planning

Influence:

• Site inventory and ordering strategies
• Procurement and vendor sourcing strategies
• MRP forecasting and obsolescence management strategies

Veto:

• Proposed changes that don’t align to strategy, supported by analysis & aligned with leadership

Critical Stakeholders & Relationships:

• Internal: Site Materials Planning, Supply and Network Planning, Procurement, Finance, Transportation, Product Life Cycle, Master Data, Inventory Control, Contract Manufacturing
• External: Suppliers, External manufacturers

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field such as Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business or Industrial Engineering
• 2-4 years related experience in materials planning, purchasing, or customer supply chain, logistics, etc.
• Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics

Skills Needed To Be Successful:

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail and results oriented – Advanced computer skills – O9, Excel, QAD, PowerBI preferred but not required
• Adaptability and resilience, able to thrive in fast paced, agile culture
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables on-time

Compensation:

Compensation offered to prospective Team Members has taken internal equity into consideration and can vary depending on a positions’ location. The final agreed upon wage may vary based on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual.
