Job summary

Nucor in Shelbyville, IN is seeking a 2nd shift Warehouse Associate to load and organize finished material, assist with receiving raw materials, and keep the shipping yard orderly. You will work with forklifts and Combi-Lifts, ensuring safe and efficient material flow.

The role requires forklift certification (or completion within 30 days), basic Excel/Word skills, and a collaborative, detail-focused mindset with reliable attendance and communication abilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Basic Job Functions

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

  • Load and organize finished material using Forklifts and Combi-Lifts.
  • Participates in the receiving process of all raw materials and warehouse parts as prescribed by the purchasing team.
  • Facility maintenance to maintain orderliness of the shipping yard.
  • Communication with other workstations.
  • Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

This position is scheduled for the 2nd Shift - 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a forklift certification or the ability to achieve a certification within 30 days of assuming the role.
  • Competency with computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Prior shipping and/or receiving experience.
