Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company is seeking a Material Project Coordinator to manage the material implementation segment of Engineering Change Notices and coordinate with suppliers to minimize surplus and inventory while meeting agreed implementation dates.

The role requires working with Engineering, Corporate Purchasing, and Quality teams to align on lead times, tooling, and PPAP status, ensuring smooth project execution and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in materials or manufacturing support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, listening and presentation.
  • Knowledge of statistics, supply chain management, distribution practices, EDI, inventory management, and production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects.
  • Mechanical aptitude reading blueprints and communicating technical information clearly.
  • Proficient with Excel and Access; understanding of CMS-80 system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Identify issues and develop strategies for implementation of Engineering Change Notices.
  • Track project implementation status including plant and supplier inventory levels, PPAP status, tooling status, and other critical information.
  • Direct the materials organization toward stated project implementation objectives.
  • Analyze overall project impact to materials and communicate lead times, inventory costs and risks to Change Control and Materials management.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Division Materials, Corporate Quality, Corporate Purchasing, suppliers and plants to ensure smooth project implementations.

Requisition Summary

Manage the material implementation segment of Engineering Change Notices. Assure that processes requiring Plant/Division coordination for new product implementation and product changes are well defined and supported. Coordinate the material segment of these changes with the supplier, to establish a mutually agreed upon implementation date while minimizing surplus and obsolete inventory.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience required; experience in materials or manufacturing support preferred.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and flexible to a consistently changing and developing environment.

The salary range for Material Project Coordinator is $80,800 - $120,800 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
