Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Material Program Manager to oversee domestic suppliers, develop material strategies, and drive cost, quality, and schedule negotiations for hardware and services. A Secret clearance is required to start.

You will collaborate with engineering and cross‑functional teams to support timely material procurement and provide accurate forecasting of material costs, while managing supplier performance and related metrics across the program lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience or 5+ with advanced degree.
• 5+ years in a supply chain role (procurement, MRP, cost estimating, or finance).
• Experience with supplier management or subcontract management.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret).

Material Program Manager (MPM)

Location: Tucson, AZ.

Security clearance: Active U.S. government‑issued Secret clearance required prior to start date.

What You Will Do

• Oversee the performance of domestic suppliers, ensuring quality, affordability, and timely delivery of hardware and/or services.
• Develop and execute material strategies that align with program needs and requirements.
• Drive robust material cost, quality, and schedule negotiations across the supplier base.
• Collaborate and influence cross‑functional teams, guiding Engineering to support timely material procurement.
• Provide accurate forecasting of material costs and manage related financial metrics.
• Monitor and proactively address performance and financial metrics, including cost, schedule, quality, and EVMS.
• Own the supplier management process, including supplier performance, SCM metrics, Make/Buy/Where strategies, strategic agreements, and compliance with customer flow‑through requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, public law).

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years.
• Minimum 5 years in a supply chain‑relevant role such as procurement, MRP, cost estimating, or finance.
• Experience with supplier management and/or subcontract management.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (special program access or equivalent manufacturing programs).
• Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with material sales forecasting.
• Experience with multiple DoD/DoW contract types (e.g., Cost Type, Firm Fixed Price).
• Experience with government acquisition regulations and laws, including FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and TINA.
• Experience working with missile system elements such as Circuit Card Assemblies, Printed Wiring Boards, electrical components, harnessing, or energetics like rocket motors and warheads.
• Experience managing complex supplier relationships in a matrixed organization.

Salary range: USD 107,500 - 204,500.
