Job summary

A leading automotive supplier located in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a Material Control Specialist. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in SAP, and at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining material plans, overseeing supplier lead times, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Establishment of KD/LP material plan.
  • Maintain appropriate material inventory.
  • Seat production plan analysis and check material coverage.
  • Process monthly closing in SAP and TGPS to consistency of payments to suppliers.
  • Verify that the physical and computerized receiving quantities match.
  • Manage suppliers’s material lead time so that seat production schedule would not be interrupted.
  • Improve materials area to increase work efficiency.
  • Support TGPS or SAP for any issues or new implementation of SAP MM module (Material Management system).
  • Support and adhere to 5S to keep work site clean and orderly consistently improving appearance of the team’s area. Active in following 5S—Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain organization of work area.
  • Collaborate with Team Members, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and/or other members of Hyundai Transys to be active contributors to the team.
  • Follow requirements of Quality policies and standards, such as ISO 9001, TS16949, IATF16949.
  • Attending all required training as assigned.
  • Comply with and promote company practices and policies in all areas including Safety, Standards of Conduct, Quality, Performance, and Communication.
  • Be flexible in work to support continuous improvement activities that will ensure personal and company growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Technical Skills Required
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with all suppliers.
  • Must have excellent multitasking skills.
  • Must have strong ability to quickly prioritize situations and mitigate all issues.
  • Proficient skills in math, reading and writing.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills – must be proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Strong SAP experience required.
  • Bilingual (Korean/English).
Preferred Working Experience
  • At least 5 years + progressive experience in the Production/Material Control field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or equivalent experience.
Education

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Production Control, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics preferred.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, bend at the knees and waist, and walk.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Required to bend at the knees and waist.
  • Required to use hands to type, handle objects, boxes, equipment, tools and paperwork.
  • Required to raise arms overhead to work, reach, and carry.
  • Required to use close vision, peripheral vision, focus and see colors as required to read equipment and material labels, color-coded inventory, computer terminal screens, etc.
  • May be required to wear safety Personal Protective Equipment for eyes, face, head, feet, hearing, hands, and arms.
  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime and/or weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel to domestic US and/or international if needed.
