Job summary

Leidos in Springfield, VA seeks a Material Planner to support material acquisition plans across production, logistics, procurement, and finance. You will align procurement activities with business needs and resolve delivery, quality, or payment issues.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast needs, manage inventory, and oversee supplier relationships. A TS/SCI w/Poly clearance and a related degree with 4–8 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/Poly clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Admin, Finance, or related field.
• 4–8 years in supplier contract management, procurement, or supply chain; Masters with 2–6 years OK.
• Experience in procurement processes, supplier development, and risk mitigation.
• Experience in supplier relationship management and cost optimization.
• Strong communication and analytical skills to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production, logistics, and finance to forecast needs and adjust procurement strategies.
• Coordinate forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with the supply chain.
• Manage inventory levels with internal teams to meet production needs.
• Initiate procurement requests and track delivery status for on-time receipt.
• Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Interact with vendors to achieve favorable procurement outcomes.
• Maintain procurement records including purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.
• Resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, or payments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and contracts.
• Coordinate warranty issues and communicate with manufacturers on replacements.
• Monitor market trends and cost drivers for process or cost improvements.
