Job summary

Continental seeks a detail-oriented Material Planner to join the Halstead operations team. You will manage material flow, coordinate with schedulers, and optimize inventory to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.

You will forecast demand and maintain efficient workflows with production, procurement, and supply chain teams. The role requires ERP/MRP experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to communicate across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of experience in material planning, production planning, inventory management, procurement, or related.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MRP software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review raw material requirements daily through the MRP system and identify upcoming material needs.
• Develop and maintain accurate material plans based on demand, inventory levels, lead times, and production requirements.
• Support material forecasting and budget preparation by analyzing usage, demand, and inventory requirements.
• Monitor material availability and identify shortages, delays, or supply constraints.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to process material requests and support Halstead team with non-production material requests.
• Collaborate with Production Scheduling to ensure material requirements are understood and changes communicated.
• Analyze inventory levels, usage, and demand trends to minimize excess inventory.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to monitor requirements, track inventory, and generate planning reports.
• Support cycle counts, annual physical inventory, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
