The Material Planner ensures timely delivery of materials by communicating with vendors, resolving delays, and supporting the supply chain team with purchasing, delivery analysis, and MRP/ERP system management.

This role is based onsite at our La Crosse, WI Facility.

What Will You Do?

• Update data in the MRP/ERP system following purchasing procedures.
• Communicate delivery expectations, quality needs, and support goals to suppliers.
• Coordinate shipments and ensure timely order closure.
• Maintain reports on cost savings, delivery performance, and inventory levels.
• Follow safety and quality procedures ethically.
• Inform Project Managers of material issues affecting deadlines.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project status and resolve issues.
• Adhere to Quality Management System processes for supplier approvals and issue tracking.
• Develop suppliers in collaboration with Category Support, Quality, and Engineering teams.
• Negotiate pricing, payment, delivery, and quality terms with suppliers.
• Act as the primary contact for suppliers and promote the Chart brand.
• Create purchase orders and confirm delivery dates.
• Coordinate with vendors to prevent supply disruptions.
• Analyze reports on coverage and supplier performance.
• Collaborate on changes and new projects with engineering and project management.
• Review daily production reports.
• Develop strategies for replenishing materials assigned to you.

Your Education and Experience Should Include...

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year degree in business or related field preferred.
• CPIM certification from the Association for Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Work Environment Requirements…

• Walking, standing, using hands, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments with noise and heat.
