Job summary

Ruskin, part of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented Material Planner to support our engineering and manufacturing operations in Grandview, MO. You will interpret drawings, manage BOMs, and ensure accurate material planning within the MRP system to keep production flowing.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and procurement, maintaining Excel/Word records, generating cut lists, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of estimating, drafting experience, or shop floor experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Strong mathematical skills including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and part number management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Autodesk products (AutoCAD and Inventor).
• Experience with AS400 and HVAC manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ruskin, an Air Distribution Technologies, Inc. subsidiary, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveMaterial Planner to support our engineering and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, creating and managing bills of material (BOMs), and ensuring accurate material planning within the MRP system. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate material availability for production.

What You’ll Do:

• Review engineering drawings and specifications to create and maintain accurate bills of material (BOMs) for products not defined in the MRP configurator.
• Identify and assign appropriate MRP part numbers based on standard and custom job drawings.
• Enter BOM in the MRP system or coordinate with engineering to ensure timely data entry.
• Generate manual cut lists for shop floor use when required.
• Provide feedback to engineering teams on design inconsistencies or improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in material planning and documentation.

What We Look For
