Job description

Raven Defense Corporation is a cutting‑edge technology company based in Albuquerque, NM, specializing in engineering services, expert program consultation, and advanced technical equipment. Our core focus areas include cybersecurity compliance, deployable sensors, and research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) systems. Founded in 2018 as a privately held small business, Raven Defense prides itself on being an agile and responsive partner capable of adapting to evolving customer needs within the defense and aerospace sectors.

About the Role

Raven Defense is searching for an experienced material operations coordinator to lead material planning, inventory flow, and supply chain coordination for our engineering and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will serve as the critical operational bridge connecting engineering design to physical hardware, collaborating daily with engineers, purchasing, receiving technicians, and assembly personnel. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who thrives on autonomy, takes ownership of complex logistical challenges, and works independently to keep fast-moving programs on schedule. In this role, you will ensure our rapid prototyping and mission-critical defense hardware moves smoothly from bill of materials (BOM) release to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • BOM Management & Technical Interpretation: Interpret complex electrical schematics, harness drawings, and mechanical assembly blueprints to build, structure, and maintain accurate engineering and manufacturing Bills of Materials.
  • Supply Chain & Purchasing Coordination: Partner directly with procurement and design engineers to translate technical specs into purchase requisitions, identify critical lead-time items, manage obsolete parts, and track order progress for fast-moving programs.
  • Receiving, Inventory & Kitting Control: Oversee the intake, verification, and serialized tracking of incoming electronic components, raw materials, and custom-machined parts. Manage staging and kitting to keep engineering and assembly workflows fully supported.
  • Autonomous Execution & Ownership: Operate independently with minimal day-to-day oversight, proactively anticipating material bottlenecks, setting inventory priorities, and driving problems through to resolution.
  • Cross-Functional Workflow Leadership: Act as the operational hub between engineering, quality, purchasing, and technician staff to proactively mitigate supply chain risks and support rapid design iterations.
  • Compliance & Traceability: Ensure all hardware and parts handling comply with aerospace and defense quality standards, counterfeit parts prevention policies, and DoD custody/traceability protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent hands-on defense/manufacturing experience will be considered).
  • 4+ years of materials management, technical planning, or inventory control experience within an aerospace, defense, or high-mix/low-volume hardware development environment.
  • Demonstrated track record as a self-starter with the discipline and problem-solving capability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring/harness diagrams.
  • Proven expertise managing complex, multi-level BOMs and material tracking
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain inventory accuracy in a high-tempo, rapid-prototyping setting with shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of defense/aerospace material management and supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with military specifications, defense procurement standards (e.g., FAR/DFARS compliance, AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems), and ESD/sensitive electronic component handling.
  • US Citizenship is required for this position.
