Material Master Manager


Location Type: Remote


Position Overview


The Material Master Manager is responsible for the creation, governance, and maintenance of all material master data within IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 8) and ARAS Innovator supporting the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution (W-TRS). This position ensures accurate, standardized, and consistent inventory records that support maintenance, procurement, and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Maximo and ARAS, a detailed understanding of material classification, and a background in lifecycle and configuration management for complex systems.


Key Responsibilities


Material Master Governance



  • Own the lifecycle of material master records in MAS 8 and ARAS Innovator

  • Ensure naming conventions, categorizations, and attributes are applied consistently

  • Audit and cleanse material data to maintain integrity, standardization and eliminate duplicates


Inventory System Management (MAS 8)



  • Configure and maintain inventory records, item masters, and asset part associations

  • Align material master data with preventive maintenance (PM) and work order modules

  • Define reorder points, safety stock levels, and lead times based on historical trends


Configuration Management (ARAS)



  • Link material records to configuration-controlled items in ARAS

  • Ensure that BOMs, engineering change notices, and part revisions are reflected in MAS 8

  • Support traceability and version control of critical assets and assemblies


Cross-System Integration



  • Act as the liaison between supply chain, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams

  • Provide recommendations for processes and screening methods to improve efficiency and workflow turnaround times

  • Coordinate with SAP (if applicable) or other ERP systems for material sync and procurement triggers

  • Support export/import processes between MAS 8 and ARAS to ensure data harmonization


Process Improvement



  • Develop and document procedures for master data requests, reviews, and changes

  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and validation activities

  • Train users and support material-related data entry issues


Required Qualifications



  • 3-5 years of experience in materials management, configuration management, or logistics

  • Proficiency in IBM MAS 8 (Manage module) and ARAS Innovator

  • Experience with item master setup, storerooms, and inventory transactions

  • Understanding of configuration control, BOM structures, and revision tracking

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a defense, aerospace, or manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with DMSMS, FRACAS, or engineering change processes

  • Experience with data migration, cleansing, and governance frameworks


Other Requirements:



  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) through the National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) process
