The Material Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall materials program for assigned projects, ensuring materials are planned, procured, received, stored, issued, tracked, and delivered to support safe and efficient project execution. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all site materials management activities and acts as the conduit between construction, project management, procurement, logistics, suppliers, and field operations.
The Material Manager provides leadership to site materials teams, establishes and maintains materials management processes, drives inventory accuracy, and ensures material availability aligns with project schedules and construction priorities. This individual effectively collaborates across all levels of the organization, develops team members through coaching and accountability, and leads project mobilization and demobilization efforts for materials management operations.
