Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
Primary Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Position Description: The Material Management Specialist II is assigned responsibilities involving the management, from acquisition to disposal, of all the supplies and equipment used to support an institution or agency. These responsibilities include procurement, receipt, storage, control, issuance, inventory, and delivery of material. This is the career level where employees perform responsible work at the full performance level and may assist or train others.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Receives, issues, ships, and arranges stock in proper location using machinery as needed
Inspect items for conformance with specifications.
Conducts inventories and maintain inventory records and reports.
Assists requisition in preparation of specifications.
Acts as liaison to the agency purchasing agent/Central Purchasing.
Confers with department heads, vendors, and outside agencies concerning purchases deliveries, and acceptability of supplies.
Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of two years of experience in receipt, storage, or stock handling work, and issuance of material; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of simple arithmetic; of the English language; of storage methods and procedures; of inventory methods and techniques and maintaining detailed inventory records; of warehouse practices and techniques; of stock handling; of the operation of warehouse equipment; and of stock identification methods. Ability is required to write simple reports; to follow oral or written instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to store and warehouse a variety of supplies; to maintain detailed inventory records; to maintain accurate warehouse records; and to follow oral and written instructions. Skills required to operate a forklift.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to stand, talk, walk, lift, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily computer-based work. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
